Is it safe to do yoga if I have an injury or medical condition?
Yoga is excellent way to support the body in its healing process. However, you will want to inform your doctor or health care provider before you begin your practice, and be sure to let your teacher know what is going on so they can address your specific needs.

What style of yoga is right for me?
There are many different styles of yoga, which as a beginner to yoga you can choose from. Some styles are fast paced and vigorous while others are very gentle and slow-moving. All of the styles of yoga have benefits, so evaluating your individual needs and personality type will help point you in the right direction. I just found out I am pregnant, should I do yoga?
Yoga is a great way to support you body and the newly forming body of your child. There are some precautions however, so you will want to let your teacher know that you are pregnant, especially if you are in your first trimester. If you have a strong existing practice at the time of falling pregnant, there is no reason why you shouln’t continue your practice, with some modifications. However, if you have never done yoga before, it might not be advisable to start a practice now – unless with a pre natal class. Please do not attend Hot Yoga classes during any trimester.

What do I need to do to prepare for a class?
Please wear comfortable workout attire. Layers are best, as your body temperature changes throughout your practice. Be prepared to work in bare feet. Please refrain from wearing any colognes or perfumes. Bring a towel to wipe down your mat after use if you sweat during class. We encourage you to buy your own mat. Your mat is an important tool and a symbol of commitment to your practice. Avoid practicing with a full stomach, and drink plenty of water before class to remain hydrated throughout your practice. Yoga is a process. Be consistent in your practice. Be patient and compassionate with yourself.


Arrive 10-15 minutes early. Always check in at the front desk – even if you’ve made an online reservation.

Practice on an empty stomach. Try not to eat 2-3 hours prior to yoga practice. Juice or fruit are OK if you need quick energy before class. Drink plenty of water prior to class, but avoid drinking during class.

Dress appropriately. Wear comfortable, form-fitting workout clothing. Layers help to adjust for temperature changes during and after class.

Purchase a yoga mat. We do rent yoga mats for R 10 per session, but having your own mat supports your commitment to your practice and ensures its cleanliness.

Remove your shoes before entering the studio. Leave your shoes in a cubby in the studio lobby. This preserves the sacred nature of the studio space. We recommend taking your valuables inside the studio.

Turn off your cell phone. This enhances your experience and is a polite gesture to your fellow students.

Notify the teacher of injuries or medical conditions. This helps the teacher know how to assist you and give you modifications.

Practice often. 4-6 times per week for maximum benefit. 2-3 times per week will show improvement for most students within three months.

Please refrain from wearing strong, heavily scented fragrances, colognes or perfumes.

Be consistent in your practice, be patient and compassionate with yourself.
